Hydrangea Season in Japan

Hydrangea (あじさいぞく) are a flowering plant native to most of Asia and America. They can grow from 1-3 meters.

This is hydrangea season in Japan and they are out in full force. Many people enjoy spending their weekends in Japan during this time of year traveling to spots noted for their hydrangea and taking pictures.

Although I don’t go out of my way to seek them out everyday, during my daily cycle commutes I see many in parks, lawns and other locations.

This is a photo gallery of some hydrangea I have seen and photographed during the past month.

These photos were taken with either my iPhone 6S (has a pretty good camera) or Nikon D3200 DSLR.
