More Japanese Comfort Food

Many years in Japan and many wonderful photos of homecooked food to share. Of course, although we may not be in Japan, for the time being, my wife still prides herself on making unbelievable Japanese food here in Beijing. I’ll never run out of great photos to share.

Below are some more of my favorite homemade Japanese dishes!

Nabe (hot pot) at our old house in Kobe, Japan. Nabe is especially wonderful on cold winter nights. You cook the food right at the table. Loads of vegetables, meat in a tasty broth.

Nikujaga 肉じゃが is another treat. Beef, noodles, carrots, potatoes, noodles, and onions in a broth.

Temaki sushi is a delicious meal that kids especially love. They can build their own sushi! I love it too!

Hot udon うどん noodles. My daughter’s favorite. Another Japanese meal that is great on cold days in Japan.

Hot soba (buckwheat noodles) with fish cake and ebi fry エビフライ (tempura shrimp). YUMMY!
